An alkaline diet can be better described as a healthy lifestyle. Good examples of phytochemicals in an alkaline vegetable is broccoli. Vitamin C, 3,3'-Diindolylmethane, sulphoraphane, lignans, and selenium all come in this tasty vegetable. Brassicates, better known as cabbage, kale, Brussel sprouts, and cauliflower, all contain lutein. These are just a few of the vegetables and bonus phytonutrients they contain.

Eating a healthier alkaline diet is beneficial for every reason, right down to sleeping better at night and the daily task of handling modern day stress. But why not add the extra benefits of losing those extra pounds, gaining a clearer complexion, and regaining some of that youthful energy? The alkaline diet provides these benefits through its food choices.

The human body normally runs even keel at a 7.39 pH scale. When the wrong foods are introduced, the excess must be brought back into balance. That's when the begging and borrowing in your body begins. When excess acid is present, the body must go out and find alkaline elements to balance things out again.

The blood contains alkaline, but it has to maintain its pH, and not a good place to get from. Therefore, the organs and tissues get borrowed from. If these are not replaced, that's when you start feeling bad, fatigued out.
